Defining Success

Per my ever faithful WEBSTERS NEW DICTIONARY AND THESAURUS, with it's spine tattered and held together with scotch tape, the word "success" is found within it's textured pages and defined as - the gaining of wealth, fame, etc: the prosperous termination (of anything attempted); a successful person or affair. - adj

I kept thinking to myself whilst walking together with those individuals who had collected this most amazing Saturday morning, of what specific way, and or descriptive terminology I would use to sum up our morning hiking experience. Of course I could just simply state that it was an awesome time, and leave it at that. You know, post up a couple of pictures and short written commentary, in summary of the overall active venture we had outside exercising. Nope, won't do that. Doing so in that type of short manner, would be very vague and short at best in explanation.

What I will say though, is that the location offered up for said inaugural venture of my closed-community offering of exercise and fun, totally delivered. The photographic scenery that unfolded under the morning fall sun that was rising, gave glimpse of the natural beauty to be found throughout this incredible setting, that I often exalt about. Stopping at various spots during our roughly one hour plus trek, I pointed out and directed the group to amazing views found, and reminders of just what degree of travel we had come so far. Picturesque. Moving along, we chatted endlessly without pause and shared personal stories taken from our own lives and experiences in the crisp morning air. Learning something new, and in the coming days ahead I believe, actually benefiting in some small way in what we were doing. Great stuff! Yet still as we traversed the parks shifting terrain, I continued to contemplate internally away from the others, on my own thoughts and feelings regarding this days turnout.

Overwhelmingly, I couldn't help but think just how successful this event turned out for me personally. The mere fact that I could gather four individuals on a day off(sans my two little grandchildren)traveling from various locations throughout the surrounding community, fully investing some of their own personal time, was overall cause for celebration I thought. Four souls whom admittedly I would think to say aloud, that are void of and most likely seeking a fitter and healthier active lifestyle, can now attest to first-hand as to the positive influence that an outdoors group activity like this can bring. Congratulations to you all in general for all your efforts in this new adventure, job well done! That in and of itself, the lone idea that strength in numbers alone within a gathered group, is enough proof and power of what living an active, "Live More" lifestyle is all about. Somehow afterwards before departing the park, the smiling faces found brought about new definition and meaning to the word success I'm thinking.
